The UFC
will treat fans and bettors to a pair of events this Saturday, starting early in
Macau with the first main card getting underway at 6 a.m. (PT) and ending more
than 12 hours later with the second main card beginning at 7 p.m. in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. When all is said and done, UFC Fight Nights 48 and 49 will span two
different countries and include 21 bouts in all, headlined by a pair of
five-rounders, featuring middleweights Michael Bisping vs. Cung Le in the first
main event and lightweights Benson Henderson vs. Rafael dos Anjos in the
second.
UFC Fight Night 48 will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass while the prelims for UFC Fight Night 49
will be televised on FOX Sports 2 at 5 p.m. before the main card starts on FOX
Sports 1. Both main events have nearly identical betting lines, as Bisping opened
as a -300 favorite (bet $300 to win $100) vs. Le - the +250 underdog (bet $100
to win $250) - and Henderson opened -320 vs. dos Anjos (+265) at the LVH
SuperBook in Las Vegas (click

Bisping (24-6) has since been bet up to -320 vs. Le (+265)
at the SuperBook, and he will try to avoid suffering consecutive defeats for
the first time in his career off a unanimous decision loss to Tim Kennedy at The
Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale back on April 16. The 35-year-old British
fighter and No. 8 contender will surprisingly have both youth and experience on
his side against Le (11-2), who at 42 has not entered the Octagon since registering
a first-round knockout of veteran Rich Franklin in the first-ever UFC event in
China (also in Macau) on Nov. 10, 2012. Le, also an action film star, has
fought just three times in the UFC since his last Strikeforce bout in 2010, earning
post-fight bonuses in two of them.
The second main event will likely have a much different feel
with two top contenders still in their prime battling to move up the ranks and
eventually challenge lightweight champion Anthony Pettis for the title belt. Henderson
(21-3) is the former champ and No. 1 contender at 155, currently riding a
two-fight winning streak since losing to Pettis via first-round armbar submission
at UFC 164. Meanwhile, dos Anjos (21-7) is ranked No. 5 and bounced back from a
UD loss to No. 3 Khabib Nurmagomedov by scoring a second-round TKO victory vs.
Jason High at UFC Fight Night 42 on June 7. Henderson headlined that card and
submitted No. 12 Rustam Khabilov in the fourth round to earn a Performance of
the Night bonus.
