Dallas Opened as a 3.5-point Road Favorite Against New York.
The only Sunday Night Football game to go "under" the total
this season was an NFC East divisional matchup involving the New York Giants,
who will host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12. The Giants lost the Week 6 SNF
game to the Philadelphia Eagles 27-0 as 1-point road underdogs, and they are consensus
4-point home dogs this time after opening +3.5 against the Cowboys at the
Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.

New York started its current five-game losing streak at
Philadelphia and has also failed to cover the spread during that stretch. Last
week in a 16-10 home loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Giants quarterback Eli
Manning threw five interceptions yet the team still had several opportunities
to not only cover as a 4-point dog but also win the game straight-up. Running
back Rashad Jennings did return to action for New York after missing four games
due to a knee injury, and he rushed for 59 yards on 18 carries.
Meanwhile, Dallas was off last week and has gone 8-0 against
the spread in its past eight games after a bye. The Cowboys broke a two-game
skid and covered the 7.5-point spread in a 31-17 victory in their last game
against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London two weeks ago, as QB Tony Romo
returned from a back injury to throw for 246 yards and three touchdowns,
including two to wide receiver Dez Bryant. Romo had missed the team's previous
game, which was a 28-17 home loss to the Arizona Cardinals as a 1.5-point
favorite.
These teams met in Dallas five weeks ago with the Cowboys
winning 31-21 after trailing 14-7 in the second quarter. The Giants were
4.5-point dogs in that last meeting and could not stop Dallas running back
DeMarco Murray, who totaled 128 rushing yards on 28 carries and scored what
turned out to be the game-winning touchdown.
The Cowboys have won the past three meetings with New York
both SU and ATS, with the total going "over" in nine of the last 11 games
between the team, including each of the previous four. The "over" is also 10-1
in 11 Sunday night games this year. In addition, the Giants have lost their past
five games as home underdogs, and they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games
against NFC East opponents.
