San Antonio Spurs: The Spurs (6-1 straight-up, 4-2-1 against the spread) conclude their four-game road trip on Tuesday. It started with a bad 106-84 loss at the Clippers last Wednesday, but they have rebounded with wins and covers at Sacramento (97-86) and Portland (112-109). Tony Parker missed that Portland game on Saturday with the flu, but he is listed as probable on the NBA injury report. San Antonio relies on a couple of older veterans in Tim Duncan (36 years old) and Manu Ginoboli (35) and is 8-0 ATS in its last eight games on two days of rest, which will be the case against the Lakers. Ginobili can also use the time off, as he’s just rounding into shape after dealing with a back injury. The Spurs are 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four games at the Lakers. The "under" is 7-2 in the last nine meetings between the teams in Southern California.

Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers (3-4 SU and ATS) just pulled off a stunning move with the hiring of Mike D’Antoni over 11-time championship coach Phil Jackson (five titles with the Lakers). Both were aiming to replace Mike Brown, who was unceremoniously fired after five games. Bernie Bickerstaff has been the interim coach the last two games, both home wins and covers over Golden State (101-77 as 7 ½-point favorites) and Sacramento (103-90 as 10 ½-point favorites). Bickerstaff should remain the coach against San Antonio as D’Antoni is still recovering from knee surgery. Point guard Steve Nash (leg) has missed the last five games and is listed as out indefinitely. Steve Blake has been starting in Nash's place and is averaging just 5.1 points and 3.4 assists this season. This is a contrast of styles, as the Lakers rely heavily on their starters for scoring while the Spurs have arguably the deepest bench in the league.
