Rodeo Trip Continues For Spurs at Clippers

The San Antonio Spurs are the proud holders of the longest winning streak in the NBA right now at nine games. They'll look to continue that on Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Lakers in one of the four games on the NBA slate to kick off the weekend.

Every year, the Spurs have to go on their annual rodeo road trip,and they're a little more than halfway through this year's 9-game excursion that started with five victories. San Antonio's scoring is actually up on the trip. The team is averaging 100.8 PPG over the last five games, 2.3 PPG higher than its scoring average for the season.

Now, the Spurs head to Staples Center to face the Clippers, who have had absolutely no luck in this series in recent years. Last year's 90-85 win in Tinseltown was the first time the Clips beat the Spurs March 2006, leaving LA 1-19 SU and 6-14 ATS against San Antonio in that span.

This 3:30 (ET) tip on Saturday afternoon can be seen on local FOX Sports networks to kick off the day.

In a 4:00 (ET) start time, the New Jersey Nets will head to the Windy City to tango with the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls are still playing without Derrick Rose and Richard Hamilton, but they are still rolling right along. In Thursday's nationally televised win over the Boston Celtics, Luol Deng, Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer all had double-doubles.

New Jersey, which is just 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS in its last four games against the Bulls, has lost eight games in a row coming into play this weekend. The Nets are just 2-6 ATS in that stretch.

With four wins in their last five games, the Memphis Grizzlies are closing on the rest of the pack in the Western Conference in the chase for the postseason. They draw the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night at 8:00 (ET).

Both teams will be playing the second game of a back-to-back on Saturday. Golden State is going to be coming off of a tough game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, while the Grizzlies have to contend with the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.

As if the travel schedule weren't already bad enough for the Warriors, if they are to beat the NBA odds on Saturday, they are going to have to do so at an arena in which they have had absolutely no luck of late. Golden State is just 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS at FedExForum over the last three years.

Saturday night closes out with a great clash between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Atlanta Hawks on NBA TV at 10:00 (ET).

Portland is 11-5 SU and 11-4-1 ATS this year at home, but the team has really fallen apart over the last week and a half here at the Rose Garden. The Blazers have dropped four straight both SU and ATS in this building, and they really don't look anything like a contending team right now with LaMarcus Aldridge sidelined. The hope is that Aldridge can return to the fold sooner than later, but matters don't look good for him and his ankle injury for the weekend.

Atlanta has split the first two games of this 5-game road trip, but has to have some confidence coming to the Rose Garden after two days off. The Hawks have won six in a row both SU and ATS in this series, including a 92-89 decision at Phillips Arena last month.
