Back To No. 1, Kentucky Takes On Georgia Bulldogs

It was another wild weekend of college basketball betting action with a number of Top 25 teams that were trumped, many of which came in dramatic and shocking fashion.

Highlighting the losses were the Syracuse Orange, the former No. 1 team in the country, losing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend. The No. 4 team in the land, the Duke Blue Devils, also saw their 45-game winning streak at Cameron Indoor Stadium stopped by the Florida State Seminoles.

One of the other teams that was stumped last week was the Baylor Bears. Baylor got off to a 17-0 start to the season, but was beaten last week, not just by the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, but at home against the Missouri Tigers as well. Now on Tuesday, the Bears have to take on the Oklahoma Sooners, a team that is only 2-4 in Big XII play.

Oklahoma did knock off the Kansas State Wildcats here at the Lloyd Noble Center a week and a half ago, so it has the potential to do some real damage against this Baylor club which is now just 2-6 ATS in its last eight games. Tip time in Norman is set for 8:00 p.m. (ET) in one of three games that can be seen at ESPN3.

Many assume that the Kentucky Wildcats are the best team in the country, and by most accounts, they are probably right. The team is 19-1 straight this season, but John Calipari's crew has definitely had some struggles. The 'Cats are only 4-14-1 against the spread, and they have yet to cover a game in a legitimate road game this year.

The team UK runs into on Tuesday is the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs are just barely hanging above .500 at 10-9 SU, and their 7-8 ATS mark plus a 1-4 record in the SEC are nothing to write home about.  The Bulldogs have covered four of out five in this series though, and they do have two SU victories in this stretch as well.

This is like the Super Bowl to UGA, and you can bet that Stegeman Coliseum will be rocking for this 9:00 (ET) tip on Tuesday night on ESPN.

In the first half of the doubleheader on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. (ET), the Michigan Wolverines will take on the Purdue Boilermakers at Mackey Arena. Robbie Hummel is doing the job for the Boilermakers, scoring 15.4 PPG, but he can’t win games by himself. Purdue is just 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS in its last three games, two of those games coming at home where the Boilermakers began the campaign covering six of their first seven lined games.

Michigan has only played four legitimate road games this year, and is 0-4 SU and 1-2-1 ATS in those four games. This is the start of four out of five on the Big Ten highway for the maize and blue, and might be Michigan's best shot for a victory in that stretch.

ESPNU is featuring a doubleheader as well. The Vanderbilt Commodores and Tennessee Volunteers will square off in Nashville at 7:00 (ET). In the second half, the Miami Hurricanes look for a win on the road at Phillips Arena in Atlanta against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The other notable game on Tuesday pits the San Diego State Aztecs against the Wyoming Cowboys. These two teams are 33-5 SU and 20-10 ATS between them, and the winner is going to be in first place in the rough and tumble Mountain West Conference.
